OYO has had a long standing relationship with the Baseball Hall of Fame and many of it’s inductees.
Our first OYO produced for a member of the Hall of Fame was of George Brett, when the Royals hosted the All Star Game in 2012. We produced a special All Star version, and it was sequentially numbered to 505 pieces, to honor George and the legacy of #5 in that city. These were distributed exclusively at that ASG and sold out very fast, well before the actual game was played.
The Baseball Hall of Fame has a large collection of OYOs for sale in Cooperstown, and has had rights for inductees that weren’t available for sale in other locations. Their unique pieces include the current class of inductees – Tim Raines, Ivan Rodriguez and Jeff Bagwell. A set of 6 minifigures from the 2014 HOF Inductee class recently sold on Ebay for $300. The HOF has exclusive rights to a few players we don’t have rights to including Jackie Robinson, and Lou Gehrig, and these are available at the HOF Gift Shop or their website.
We’ve also produced for the Atlanta Braves two minifigures of Hank Aaron. The Braves and Aaron have the rights together, and they have had a sequentially numbered piece to honor each of his HRs, and then a current one available at Sun Trust Park.
Some players have added themselves to the HOF licensing program, and we are always excited to add new players like the new Frank Thomas and Mike Piazza minifigures just launched for all.
You’ll see below many of the different packaging designs we have incorporated into our look to honor the classic Hall of Fame nameplates for each of these amazing baseball players.
